Baby seat...how are the leather seats holding up?

So I set the baby seat on the passenger side before and hooked it up with the LATCH. I have yet to try the seat belt method but it seems like a lot of work getting it on the LATCH. You have to find and snap in the buckle to the latch and then sit or knee on the base to pull and tighten the belt.

I just don't see myself putting it back to the latch if I have to remove the baby seat often for passengers or for whatever reason (like loading big items in the back seats etc). The seat belt method seems much easier to snap in and out.

It's definitely more snug fit now that it's on the side on latches.

The main reason for using the center seat location...and a big reason...is it is the safest place in the car as it minimizes side-impact injuries.

It is inconvenient re: entry and exit, but worth it to protect the little one IMO.

Like others have said a towel works great. No problems with the leather 18mos later.
