I know the rear seat belt rattles on the top partial shelf but mine doesn't do that for the front one.

Yep. Mine buzzes like crazy. It all started when I put on the Stillen cat-back (1st gen.) and I actually thought about doing something about it today but I'm the King of procrastination so this weekend, maybe.............

I also have a 2004 and I just noticed the same rattle sound yesterday from the drivers seat belt. Any thoughts on what it is?

Are you sure it's not from inside the door closests to the pillar? I know the line for the door handle rattles against the metal inside the door.

Have you checked the TSBs yet?

I think this might be it: http://www.infinitihelp.com/Ownershi.../ITB02-021.htm

It is definitely seat belt adjuster-mine started buzzing after I changed exhaust. I fixed it by sticking foam tape right on sides of it, but it looked ugly, so I took it off.

I've got this issue and it comes and goes. Only my front passenger seat belt retractor does this. As far as I can tell, the noise is coming from inside the retractor itself therefore there's no real fix. I've fixed a ton of rattles in my car, but this is one I think I can't fix.

my '05 does it too when the adjuster is in the highest position. The dealer couldn't fix it.

I now just leave the adjuster in the middle position and it doesn't make any noise.
