oil changes, trans flush, etc..

just wondering if you guys would ever take your cars to one of those franchise lube places to get oil changes, or anything else along those lines. Such as EZ Lube, meineke, JiffyLube, etc. Its kinda putting a dent in my wallet taking it to the dealership all the time.

and what should i tell them to do if i were to ever take it to..say JiffyLube? such as what filter to use, or what kind of oil i want, etc..

Well for me, I did the last oil change myself (the only difficult part was getting the G on ramps which tend to get shifted when going up). I've been doing my own oil changes for the last 2-3 years, and I plan to keep doing that. As for the tranny fluid, I drained and refilled the fluid from my wife's Corolla, and it's just as easy as the engine oil. I may consider doing that to the G when the time is up (I'm at 46K, still about 14K miles till the 60K mile interval).

The dealership when possible but I have taken my G to a quick lube place where I watched what they were doing. Double check the oil via dipstick afterwards.
