Talking How did it happen to you?

I just replaced the factory tires on my G with all season Goodyears! Hallelujah what a difference. They seem to grip and ride better than factory. They even seem to do really well in the snow. Those bridgestones must have been rock hard. I had been unhappy with the ride and handling trade off until now. Wow, now I remember why I fell in love with my G in the first place.

I have been having so much fun I though it would be cool to do a thread on how we came to be G sedan owners in the first place.

I personally went to Carmax to look at a manual 6 cylinder Mazda 6. While I was walking around the lot i saw the Manual G. I knew they were pretty rare so I had to take it for a test drive!...You can guess the rest. So much for the budget. After all what is an extra 10G???!!!

Ok so what is your story? How did you become G crazy?

When I was saving up for a car, my dad told me he'll look at some online auctions for me. Well I told him I set my mind on the I35 (2002-03), well he messed up and looked at the G instead. He tells me oh these are the prices I found bla bla.. and I'm like nooo wrong car! And then I thought to myself hmm.. why not save up for a little longer and get a car I'll love alot more! So I did... wheeeee

I was looking at the Jetta...test drove one....then was thinking I'd wait for the new Mazda 6 to come out.

One day, I told my wife...lets to check out those new G35s...I wanted to show her one up close. The sales lady..."let's take one for a spin"...me "okay"....me again "where do I sign?"

I drove it for about a 10 minute test drive and took it home that day. I still love driving this car every day

I was looking at the Is300 and the 335 i think it is and the G35. Main thing i wanted was a RWD Manuel Sedan with potential. The Is300 was a little girly and small so i xed that out of the Equation. And The BMW salesman was a dick. So i said F?ck that, here i come VQ's!

I have yet to regret it..

I used to own a R32 GTR, so it was a no brainer. When I first saw the V35 styling, I hated it. I couldn't believe they took away the round tail lights and added those huge headlights. After a few years it grew on me, then they brought back the tail lights and it was on.
It took a week to find a good deal on one. I got it for 6k off of sticker. I wasn't going to buy it if I couldn't find a good deal, glad I did, because I hated my Jeep (My family car, ha)

i owned a corolla and loved it (modded). But with my new job i knew i could afford a faster car. One day i remembered the fxs but everyone has one here so i checked out infiniti-me.com. Saw the g35 sedan and knew it was the car for me. The test drive proved it!

I had a ****ty job before and remember once at a car wash with my corolla, this cop drove up in his fx35 and i was thinknig to myself, when can i own a car like that.

5 months down the road - G unit

Well I had sold my F150 because I left for a deployment and couldn't justify car payments for a vehicle that would just sit in the driveway. I put alot of miles on my cars so I wanted something with a little better gas mileage and also something in a stick and it had to be somewhat fast. After about 6 months of research on the net I had my choices narrowed down to BMW or Infiniti. My wife drives an FX so I knew Infiniti was quality. It just came down to bang for buck. Yeah the BMW is nice but way overpriced IMHO. So I bought a new 06 with 45 miles on it while I was on R&R. To date I only have about 500 miles logged behind the wheel and still got another two months of this deployment before I can drive her again, and I can't wait!

I had a QX4 that I would take in for service and they would give me a G loaner. First time I mashed the gas I was in love. Two services after that one and getting loaners I was sold. Me and the wife just cruising decided to stop in to the dealer where I bought my QX4 and look around the used car lot. Saw an '06 with 11000 miles, drove, and took it. I've been happy ever since! Now if I could get rid of the mod bug

I got tired of punk-*** losers trying to steal my 99 supercharged Civic Si. I realized that the tuner Civic-Neon-Scion-Integra crowd was just too immature for me, so I sold the Si. I had always wanted a sport sedan like a 3 series or Audi. I wasn't attracted to the G sedan at first, but when Infiniti made all the changes for the '05 model, I realized that was the car for me.

The Si

Now this is what I'm rollin' wit'.

I was walking at lunch past the nearby Nissan used car lot, and I saw this unknown, sharp, sedan. Went up, and saw it was the 03 G35. Next day, went back and had a look at the interior with a couple coworkers.

Researched it a little bit (since I was NOT in the car market), and decided to go for a test drive that weekend. (I had never heard of this car before. Of course, it was sold by the weekend. Dithered over the next 4 months, looked at a used 3 series, the TL, etc before I ended up buying the 04 G35 that September.

When I first saw the Sedan I was not a fan of the back. It actually took 3 years for it to grow on me. Didnt matter anyways because I never thought i'd be able to afford paying over 30k for a car under 30 years old. I got a good job now a huge raise and traded in my 2005 altima for the car I grew to love.

Well in the midst of high gas prices a couple years back I was looking to trade my 04 TITAN in for a Volvo or Subaru Legacy. Anyways the infamous brake problems of the 04 TITAN lead me to visit the Infiniti dealer since the Nissan dealer I bought it from didn't want to replace them a second time for severe shaking under application (same owner owns both dealership). I dropped my truck off and was welcomed with open arms with " we'll take care of it Mr. Harper" During the brake replacement I was just browsing through the parking lot just looking, and even turned down an offer for help with, "No thanks I'm just getting my brakes replaced". Then the unbelievable happened, I walked up on a brand new 04 6MT just asking to be driven. So the salesman that I had previously turned down was now being sought, so we went for a test drive. Upon return my truck was done and ready to go, well I never drove the truck back home (lol).

I was going to drive my 95 Maxima until it died (or at least until summer), but in December, it decided to sputter on me. I had narrowed my choice of replacement to either an Altima, Subaru Legacy/Outback GT/XT, G35, or 2004+ TL--they all had to be manual, as I never really liked driving automatics. Anyway, the TL's were too expensive, the Altimas were too cheap, and the only manual Legacy had almost 60K miles but cost as much as the 04 G35 with 40K miles. So in the end, I got the G, and love it eversince.

By the way, the following week after buying the G, turns out that the Maxima was sputtering because of a couple broken electric wires to the MAF sensor. Twist-tied the wires back together, a little electric tape, and it was good as new. It was sold happily the next week

We (my wife and I) needed a new car. We had a 4 door Chevy PU and it was eating us out of house and home. 12 mpg I first saw the Coupe at a restraunt here in Corpus Christ. It was black, I was just crusing through the parking lot slowly, looking menacing and hot!

~FF 3 months~

We go to San Antonio with the intent of checking out Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti. I had done my homework and said "let's stop at Gunn Infiniti, it's the closest". We never left. Once my wife got in the sedan, it was all over but the cryin'. They didn't have what we wanted (MT-6, Sport, DG, G, no Navi, Prem), and trying to find one at another dealer was going nowhere, so we ordered one and waited 4 months to get it. Gunn offered us 9800 for the PU (HA!), we ended up selling it to a private party for 14,000 and my wife was out of a car for 2 months waiting for it to come in.

Regrets? None.
