ouch, sad to see your G that way, but glad it was only the car that was damaged. Also my prior experience as an auto adjuster tells me you are looking at well over $3K in damage, probably somewhere from $7-10K. I'd contact your insurer to get them to take care of the damage. It also shouldn't effect any good driver discount (as these tend to be based on points or at fault accidents), but check with your insurer to be sure

Jesus christ, how is that even close to 10K in damage?Maybe if you take it to a ferrari dealership to have it repaired ... Its a new front bumper front fender, hood, headlight, tailight, rear bumper, and rear quater panel.....the fender and quarter panel are going to be the most expensive. Then just buy a body kit and make that thing look bad *** for about 1 grand and do it yourself. I say its MAYBE 5500 in damage...

depending on how close your body shop friend and you are you may work out a way to go through insurance as a comprehensive claim rather than a liability claim.

how do i go about doing that? I am really torn because I can see myself dishing out 3 G's to cover, but 10k might as well go with insurance, after all, I pay that **** every month for this reason...in case something happens.

based on your description this is definately a comprehensive/collision claim, not a liability claim. There is no third party, so the liability portion of your policy does not react, only the comp and collision portion of your policy.

depends on who your insurer is. If they do go up, give me a call at my office and I'll get you the best deal in town 800-821-0967 ex 2592

considering that you were spinning out of control and hit the wall twice, That does not look that bad. Damage is still damage, but in my opinion you got away easy. Stay sharp, stay smart. Water is a tricky stuff.
Glad your ok.
God bless

my family - after many years of poor records and high rates - decided to go on a family plan. eventually our rates went down...a little bit.

a curb collided with my vehicle last fall in a situation very very similar to yours. Luckily I was able to avoid the onslaught of insurance and what not. I paid out of my pocket. I'm still in the process of repairing the vehicle - doing such required a lot of my own hours and hard work. If you go through insurance, you don't have to accept the vehicle until every scratched panel is fixed. It can save you alot of headache and mental stress.

I believe my actions were justified because my claim would have affected my entire family (who really are the main cause for my high rates). In the end it put me through too much anxiety. therefore, I would recommend you avoid paying through your wallet as much as possible.

good luck - the damages do not look too awful.

The same thing happened to me but at a lower speed. I feel you brother ! and it sucks! At least you didnt hurt anyone or getting hurt, that is the most important part imo...

best of luck and drive safe!

After that incident I am very cautious about the tires my g runs on

go thru your insurance and tell them someone on the highway bumped into you and you swerved and hit the side and it wont go against your good driving record because they wont be paying out any Property Damage to anyone else

I got into a small "fender bender" and my insurance adjuster said that 90% of the time a G gets into a front end collision of any kind, it gets expensive because of that carbon material cross member. Any damage at all and that thing's gotta be replaced because it supports so much and is responsible for holding the unibody ends at a proper distance from eachother. My super minor issue ended up being 3500 according to my insurance co., thank god I've got a friend with a custom body shop!
