sorry to hear about that Bro but If you insurance goes up then get some new insurance!!! I totaled my truck on july 4th and totaled the Lexus IS350 w/ paper tags on it..... keep in mind I only had liability on the truck.... but they gave the lady 25k for her car paid all medical bills for them and my passenger. etc etc but my insurance went up a whopping 23 dollars a year!

yeah i just filed a claim, forget the headaches...i'll just let insurance take care of it. I am paying full coverage so let the fully cover me. I highly doubt it's totalled and I'd just really like my baby back. I'm using my own shop maybe they can paint my roof black for me while they're at it and i'll have it come out of my pocket with a bigger discount

I think you need SOME traction for the VDC to work. OP said he was running on balding tires, heavy rain on oily SoCal roads, and slowed down to 60.(??) Sounds like a recipe for heavy-duty hydroplaning. Lucky there was no other car nearby.

Definitely not. Stability control isn't going to save you in situation where you're hydroplaning. The tires are floating above the water surface therefore the brakes won't work.

^^^Easily more, and they haven't even checked the frame......my heart goes out to you dude.

And I'd go through the insurance, thats what you've been paying them for. They might give you the 2 months since you have a clean abstract.

Man this sucks Socal. Glad you are okay.

Good decision to let the Gecko (or whomever) front that bill and get baby back on the road.

I will have that muffler waiting for you when the G is all better . I'll even give you a simpathy discount

Glad to see that you and no one else got hurt. It could have been really bad. Good luck on the repairs.

I just replace the factory bridgestones on my 6mt and they were not bald but had just gotten to the tread blocks and the handling had gotten tail happy in the dry and in the wet or snow it was non stop VDC lights! Those factory tires are soooo hard they really are crap!

glad you are OK!
