g35 was rear ended
my brother was on his way to the monday night football game a few weeks ago between the giants and bucs. he was stopped at a redlight and someone wasnt paying attention. my brother and his wife are ok but a little sore. they are still waiting on the insurance to tell them if its totalled or not.

Re: g35 was rear ended
Sorry to hear that bro. I'm glad your brother and his wife are ok. That's the main thing. The car can be replaced or fixed.
The G is prolly one of the safest cars you can be in. A big plus.

Re: g35 was rear ended
Yep.. probably about that fast, somewhere in the 30-40mph range, I'd say.
Glad they're okay. Getting rear-ended can cause long-term muscle problems (neck/shoulders/back), hope that's not the case here.

Re: g35 was rear ended
subrobo, they are ok. thanks for asking. they have a little soreness in the neck. i dont know how serious it is though since i only saw them for a little on thanksgiving. what sucks is usually my dad car pools everyone to the bucs games. but the one time my bro drives, the accident happens. he was going to replace his rodeo with the new fx35...but now it looks like he will be replacing the g35 with the fx35.

Re: g35 was rear ended
That looks bad! Almost as bad as my Jag X-type that got rear-ended a month ago. It was totalled by someone also not paying attention, at about 45 mph. He never even put on the brakes! The good news is that I am ok, and now I'm driving a new G35. Glad to hear your people weren't seriously hurt.

Re: g35 was rear ended
Sorry to hear about the accident. Most importantly, they seem okay. Nice to know I am driving in a solid car.
I noticed the tinted windows...seems your bro was one that really took care of his car and was close with it....and that only makes it hurt more!
Let us know how the insurance side comes out.

Re: g35 was rear ended
It's fixable, but it looks expensive. The impact went all the way into the rear door, so that needs to be replaced. Don't know how much damage there is to the rear axle assembly and suspension. Plus, those rear quarter panels extend across the roof all the way down the front windshield, and I'm curious what labor would be to swap those out, with the door seals and chrome and such that's in the way of those. Taillights, spare tire, bumper, trunk, etc., etc., etc. 10-15k easy, I'd say.. and if you go much past 20k, you're getting close to totalled.

Re: g35 was rear ended
I agree that it should be fixable, especially since it was the rear end and not the front. Some kids recently stole our G and crashed it, but all the damage was to the front end. There was similar body damage, as well as damage to the suspension. The bill came to about $22k, but for an almost new car it needs to be at least 75% of the current market value of the car before the insurance company will total it. I was a little worried about how the car would come out, but so far it feels like new, with the exception of a few squeaks and rattles. I hope that we'll be able to get those fixed, as well.
