what type of oil?

i think im going to try my next oil change myself the next 3k miles. but was wondering which oil you guys prefer to use? i know we're suppose to use 5w/30 semi synthetic, but which oil filter should i use? and how many quarts will i need?

I'm also considering on buying Royal Purple from Autobacs. I hear thats a nice expensive oil that wouldn't be needing any changing for 10k miles. True? what do you guys think?

I switched to Mobil 1 full Synthetic and I think you need 5-qts. NAPA or Pep Boys should have the filter you need. Other threads have been started about this and the conculsion is that Wal-Mart is the cheapest place to get the M1 if purchased in bulk.

5 quart jugs of Mobil1 at walmart are only $23. Buy a filter and that's all you'll need to DIY.
