OK, I already seached the DIY section - no luck. Does anyone have info on how to change the fluid?

There's a bolt underneath the car, I think it's in the middle b/t the two front wheels closer to the passenger wheel. Unscrew, drain, and refill up top under the hood. 4-5 quarts is required for a drain and fill.

Where do you refill underneath the hood? I don't see a dipstick tube?

b/t the back of the engine and firewall, there is a small tube, a bolt holds the cap on, you have to take the bolt off first.

Take some pics when you do it so the next guy won't have to ask again.

Sounds simple, but it's not if you want to do it right. You'll never get the fluid out of the torque converter by draining it that way, it needs to be flushed like the cooling system. Doing a gravity drain is fine if you're just changing the fluid because you want to, but if the car really needs a fluid change, you're better off paying to have it done properly. That's most likely why you didn't find much DIY info on it.

Most dealers say a drain and fill is sufficient vs a complete flush. If your fluid is really dirty, I would just do the drain/fill yourself twice (2nd time after driving for a while to mix the old/new fluid).

When in doubt, read the FSM!! See this post for the 2004 instructions (I doubt they have changed):

even draining and filling the trans fluid twice wont replace all fluids to be new.
you figure doing it three times and by that time the cost of good fluid and your time starts to add up, also your not still sure if its completely new fluid.
just take it to a shop and have it power flushed once and your done

I think the strategy is just to change it at more frequent intervals when not doing a flush, which I think is fine, over the life of the car. I flush it myself, but I can see doing this too.

Buy it at the dealer... prices aren't bad.
BTW don't use the other exotic fluids out there.
The Nissan fluid is synthetic & designed for the AT.
