Hissing when car is off

After i turn my car off there is a hissing noise coming from the front left of the engine, sounds like air coming out of a tire. Not certain if it's something to be concerned about or not?

Any ideas?

Thats the sound of your car being pissed that you were driving it granny style Your TPMS will alert you if your tire is losing air. I would just check the pressure really quick for piece of mind.

that should be the intake relieving itself of pressure. the intake is pressurized during operation.

Not without a turbo or supercharger.

The best thing you can do is get a rubber hose and put it up to your ear and search around for the noise. Its kinda hard to diagnose what going on unless you know where the problem is occuring. Good Luck......

If the noise lasts a couple seconds, it's probably the intake. I get the same thing. If it lasts longer, you might have a problem....

Just air pressure equalizing between the atmosphere and the intake as the engine winds down.

It's normal. The car is releasing additional vacuum.

Did you check and make sure there is no snake under the hood?
