No Idea what this sound is...

ok so i have an 03 g35 sedan auto. when i drive about 50mph i get a rattling noise coming from the drivers side front of the car. the same noise comes when i go on a pot hole...i can hear that same "thing" making a slight 1 secong rattle for the amount of the time im passing the pot hole. but mainly its that when i go past 50 mph i hear the rattling noise, it sounds like "kut-kut-kut" and its constant up until i brake and reduce the speed to like 30 or 40.

i took it to the mechanic, he said its ur tire rod, i changed the tire rod.... didnt help. he checked the ball joints/wheel bearing said they were fine, he checked the shocks but said the shocks had nothing to do with the noise.... what the hell can this be? the noise is sooo loud and annoying. and at the same time the steering slightly vibrates. that noise slightly makes the entire car shake too a little. i initiallly thought it was the ball bearing but the mechanic said it would have been the ball bearing IF the noise came at any speed.

side note: to explain the noise, it sounds like the same noise a messed up axel makes when u make a left or right turn except this noise is duller, (not as sharp/high pitched) and the repeititions are way more faster....

any ideas?

He said the bearings were checked.

It could be the steering spindle. I would think he checked that when he was in there.

I just recently got the same sound. I dont get it from normal driving, but only when i floor the car from a slow roll (0-10 mph) and keeps on clicking till i hit over 30-40 mph. I don't actually hear the clicking, but feel it agianst the gas pedal. I never had this before, but only noticed it about 2-3 weeks after i got into a recent accident where i busted my rims . anyone know whats wrong? could it be the boot? i don't hear it during regular driving, only when im SUPER aggressive.

Are the front tires showing any uneven or unusual wear?

Steering wheel vibrations that come at a certain speed are quite often due to wheel/tire problems, such as wheel balance or wheel trueness (straightness and roundness) and tire problems.

I'd first have a tire dealer check the tires to see if a steel belt hasn't broken or slipped. You can do a rudimentary check of this yourself if you are somewhat mechanically inclined by removing the tire/wheel assy from the front, then on a smooth and level hard surface, gently roll the tire away from you. A tire or wheel with problems will be wobbly and will flop over or "steer" itself from a straight line; a true tire and wheel will roll straight and smoothly.
