I just bought a 2005 AT G35 sedan that does not seem to have any illumination at the AT selector lever console.
I search through the full service manual and this forum, but cannot find a bulb location. There is a large indicator in the middle of the instrument panel.
Am I correct to assume the shifter console on the G35 is not illuminated? If it is illuminated, how do I get access to the bulb?

TIA

I know on the 03-04 there is a small bulb under the plate in the center console!

It does light up. To get access, stick something under neath it and pop it up from the back side (area closest to the drink holders).

I have a loose wire on mine...I used to be able to bang the shifter area w/ my fist & BAM, the light would come on....well that method stopped working . I'd assume getting access to that on the '04 is the same...thanks!

jimmyc13,
It's different from the 05-06
Look on page 6 #13-16 and it shows you how to get it off.

Edit, Just noticed I only posted the 05-06

Here is the one I meant to post for the 03-04

Yup, there is a bulb.
It should be a 5 to 10 minute job.

Pull down the rectangular chome ring below the shift ****.
Remove the spring wire clip by pushing if off toward the front. The shift **** will easily pull off.
Carefully pry the whole aluminum trim up from the plastic console, with a small stiff putty knife wrap with cloth.
Lift upward at the back first. Continue to lift and all the clips will release. Withdraw the whole assembly towards the back and up.
A the front, disconnect the big white connector. Make sure to pressing down on the small square release on the side. Also disconnect a small brown connector.
Remove the assembly for easy servicing.
The bulbs holders needs 90 degrees twist to release.

I did not have a spare bulb sitting around, so I just robbed the ash tray bulb.

Hope that helps ones that needed it.

Thanks....sorry...didn't realize he was the original poster. I hate when people don't read the thread & then ask $hit like that!
