I keep getting this every time I start my car. The green key stays lit on the dash for about 30 seconds.

I have an 05 G35x with the Intelli-key.

Any thoughts on what this might be? I tried my other key fob and the same thing is still happening.

Thanks,
George

Heehee... there's a certain irony in calling it an "idiot light", then asking what it means.

According to the owner's manual, if the key light is lit solid green, it just means that the I-Key is present and the car is ready to start.
If it's blinking green for 30 seconds after you start the car, it means that the battery in the I-Key is low.

Thanks.

Guess it makes sense that both fobs would get low at the same time since they are basically in transmit mode all the time.

I don't think they actually transmit all the time. I get the impression that they only transmit when "hailed by the mother ship" so to speak, when you push the door button or try to start the car. That's why they tell you to keep them away from strong magnetic/electrical fields like TV's and computers - so you're not constantly waking the fob up and sucking battery power. I've had mine for almost two years now and I haven't had any battery issues yet (knock on wood).

I don't know if the fobs are the same as a Mercedes but there keys you need to put them in the ignition time in and time again as the ignition is was charges the fob battery. I have an 04 X so I don't have the fob to know if you can put it in the ignition if you can try it.
