Just swapped sensors

From my stockers to the new 18's I put on my sedan yeaterday and have driven over 150 miles so far with no signs of the TP sensor light. I however did ask a Nissan dealer how much to reprogram it and they said $37.50. Why is it then that just about everyone claims to have the light come on after the sensor swap?

Did you drive for 45 minutes continuously? When I swapped my wheels, I had to drive for at least 45 minutes w/o turning off the car before the warning light came on.

Next time you are in for an oil change, ask the dealer if they will reprogram your sensors while changing the oil. My dealer did it for me free of charge.

The problem most people have is when they get different sensors and the light comes on. You have to have any new sensors programmed to your car.

You are fine. I have moved mine between four sets of rims with no problems.

+1, ttrank is right, if you just installed your sensors in new wheels then you don't have to do anything.

I am always amazed by people than can have that many post and still don't know ****.

Like ttrank said, you only need to get them reprogrammed on a new set. I had mine swapped over as well and the guy even shuffled them around, no lights, no problems.

+1 Yeah...no kidding. I only post something that is advice or an answer if I know it's 101% certain...otherwise I tell people it's "from what I've heard or read" and recommend someone else answer their question that truly knows the answer for sure.

Ok got it. Then you're saying don't waste the $37.50 since it's the same sensore just swapped to different rims?

If you are using the same sensors you are fine. I misunderstood your post and assumed you swapped wheels and used different sensors than the ones that were originally on your car (like I did). That is when you need to program the new sensors or the warning light will eventually come on.

Thanks. I bet the dealer knew that too, but he still gave me an appointment date. Guess I'll be a no show.
