Unfortunately Infiniti has not done anything to complete with the 335i... I'm not sure what BMW they say it's slaying...

All wheel drive, passing people on the snowy shoulder with recline able back seats? what what?
I was always more of a fan for the coupe, but I guess the sedan grew on me, so I bought it. Now everyone who I talk to actually likes the sedan far more...

first off this is a sedan forum - the 07 sedan will not slay the 335i by any means... secondly - I've driven the G37 (very spirited, not through a dealer - pre release) and I hate to tell you but in real world the 335i is faster.

Sorry guys, I'm an Infiniti guy too... but facts are facts - Infiniti has not come out with anything to compete.

I'm sure this will go 'round and 'round... it's been beat to death in other threads... All I can tell you is drive them and race them... you'll see the truth.

Ive raced a new 335 coupe with the turbos, im not to big of a Bmw guy so im not sure what their called 335is, 335it 335ic?. But their pretty damn fast, He pulled maybe about a half car on me. I imagine with a better tune and uping the boost they are an easy mid 12 sec car.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...dan_comparison

read up. very favorable to infiniti. i think it is the 330i.(interestingly enough, it is about 9k more than the infiniti - that is huge) let me put in 9 grand of performance upgrades and match the $ of the BMW, and I will smoke it out.)
better in accelleration and braking.
yes , better...much better.
the figure eight a draw between the two. the slalom, a BMW won round. Hard demanding driver course - goes to BMW for suspension characteristics. overall it still calls the BMW winner, easliy argued.
anyway -maybe not an overall slayer in every catagory - but for me I just cant get over the money aspect of the comparison. If I am gonna spend nearly 40 grand for a BMW 330i -i begin to think of over cars I would look at that point. I can get exceptional performance out of the G for much less - and value in topdays marketplace is huge. Now if money were not an issue - we would be talking about the next tier of luxury sedans , but money is an issue.
Allthat being said, the G just look sbadder and better and mods are more dynamic than on a 330. IMHO as always.

^old and useless since we are comparing 08 335 to a 08 g35/37 in which 335 rapes the G in acceleration.

335 is not the benchmark comparison. it is the 330i.

07 G35 sedan to 335i

anything else is pointless.

And the 335i beats it. Also beats the G37 coupe.

Period end of story.

Now, when (yes I believe its "when") the G35(7) has turbo, Infiniti will have finally stepped up to the challenge... until then we simply don't have anything that can compete.

Well if Infiniti still wants a piece of the market, they WILL have a turbo model. It is just the matter of when. It is a no brainer for me.

A turbo model won't happen. The 335i is not that fast i cant imagine the new G35 sedan being that much slower then one stock if it is at all.

Like i have said i have run one and out of three runs it was nothing special very close race.

For the price the new g35 sedan is still well worth it.

I have driven the new G35 sedan and it felt slower than my car which later on it proved to be true, but when i drove the 335 automatic, it honestly pulled harder than the E46 M3. The 3rd gear on that car is amazing. I can't imagine any car in its class pulling on the 335 after 60 mph.

I've raced 'em, I've driven 'em... the 335i is faster.

I'm quite certain Infiniti will put a turbo version of the G in its lineup... I've said it for 2 years and think it will happen within the next 2.
