Possiblely new G35 owner, need help! please chime in!
Brown FV, I would keep your dad's M35 and save your money. Nobody in college cares about what kind of car you have and if it's too nice of a car, it's going to get Fcuked up by some jealous punk. After you get out of college and have your degree and a nice job, then go shopping for your dream car.
I agree with keeping the M35x. He is willing to just give it to you?
Uh, yeah. It's more pimp anyway. Invest that money now and don't think about buying a car until you are out of school. Even then, the m35x will still be going strong.

yeah his plan was to just give me his M35x just like that because he said i should save my own money for after university, but i think im going to be sticking with the FX. my mom is just gonna get her own car by either trading in the m or just just buying a new car, and my dad is going to do his own thing.
ive already put some time and money into the FX, and i could never let it go. being the primary driver on the FX sure is going to create a huge dent in my wallet though

g35, m35, whatever. either choice is still far more car than a college student should be driving.
to be as sensible as possible within your lofty criteria: trade the m35, grab an '06 g35 M6 (and bank/invest the additional cash), drive it until you grad with no major mods (i.e. save your money for tuition, rent, etc...), sell it after grad and then go nuts with dream cars as shodog suggested.
college students aren't supposed to driving their dream cars. unless honda civics and toyota corollas are what they call dreamy.
this is how one achieves the great sense of accomplishment after graduation: all the hard work and sleepless nights spent studying finally pay off and you grab your dream car, or whatever one's vice may be, after landing that sweet job.

I whole heartedly agree with the above poster.
Being a recent college graduate I can attest to the fact that being able to buy the car you've wanted for four years is a rewarding experience.
I drove an 01 Saturn L200 all throughout college - worked my *** off through school and locked in a sick job @ an engineering firm making bank for a 22 year old.
What did I do as soon as I got that job?
Went out and bought my baby, an 05 g35x
Here's to hoping that in the next few years I get a raise and can afford to maybe get an M45. All I know is that I plan on sticking with Infiniti automobiles for a long time down the road.
