aweful clunk sound

Hey guys, my poor G Sedan... every time i hit the smallest bump, I get a nasty clunk from the front suspension; I'm thinking control arms... right? My question is are they covered under warranty? I'm at 94000 km so my warranty is up in 6000 kms... its stressing me right out! if anyone can let me know they are covered under warranty or how much the parts cost if they aren't it'd be much appreciated.

another question; is it unsafe to just keep driving it and deal with this noise, or is this a safety issue? (only considering this for a short time anyways, if its not under warranty)

cliffs:
- Nasty noise from front suspension over any bumps
- wanna know if contol arms are under warranty
-how much do they cost
-is is safe to drive with this busted-*** sound?

thanks guys

First thing is just look under the car for obvious damage. That should give you the first indication of whether things are safe. Then take it to the dealer and ask them if it's covered. Better do it sooner than later.

That's what my loose Stillen sway bars sounded like. You need to get her on a lift and inspect the suspension parts. It could be just a case of tightening up something.

Does it only happen at slow speeds? I had this exact problem when driving around my neighborhood 5-15 MPH. Got it fixed under warranty...wasn't the shocks & wasn't the compression rod....don't recall the exact part that they replaced.

yea its much more noticable at low speeds. I am glad to hear that it will be fixed under warranty.

on a side note, can anyone tell me if 18 235 40 tires will fit on all 4 of the coupe 18s? I REALLY love those wheels!

Deisel X just had a similar sound coming from his G and it turned out to be the swaybar end links that were shot. Definatly throw her up on a lift and check it out.

I had a sound like that and it was my steering spindle. Dealer replaced it. It was not normal. The jacka$$ who worked on my car at the body shop didn't put the cotter pin back in so it loosened and came off.

Well, the IP's problem could be many different things. But I would say the most common 'clunk' noise that occurs at low speeds, and over small bumps and aprons is caused by defective compression rod bushings. Every G35 loaner I've ever driven has this to some extent, and my own car drives me nuts. Infiniti has not addressed the defective part, so replacing the rods just temporarily solves the noise problem.

glad you got it fixed..i have the same problem coming from the rear of my car and the dealer would not replace the end links under warranty because "my car was lowered"....what a bunch of B.S.
