Hi fellas new g owner and need some answers!

HI EVERYONE! i just got my g35 a week ago and have had problems with a clunking noise whenever i go over small bumps or onto a driveway or when im turning at slow speeds. I am not a newbie to forums and have "searched" information about the problem. I believe it isnt my compression rods becuz its coming from the rear and from wat i have read the compression rods are only in the front. its not really that loud but it does bother me espc. since i just got the car. I raelly love the car it handles amazing and cant wait till i get some rims and more. if any1 can help me out and not flame me out that would be great. thanks again -Rob btw i do have access to a lift

Is your car lowered the clunking noise sounds like it could be your tire hitting the fender.

If it is still under warranty take it to the dealership to get it checked out.

+1 if you can have the dealer look at it.

Otherwise, check the sway bar mounts and just make sure everything is nice and tight under there.

doesn't sound normal at all. I have a mid 03 coupe and never heard anything until I lowered it!

I encountered the same symptoms on my '03.5 as what the OP described. I took the G into the dealer, and the problem turned out to be faulty compression rods. Replaced them under warranty, and no more clunking noise anymore.

I had a similar problem. At first the dealer changed the front compression rods, but the noise was still there. I took it back, and they changed the rear stabilizer links (both), and no more noise. See if that helps. My 04 G35X has 41,6xx miles.

Good luck and Congrats on the car.
