How much did you pay for intelligent key???

Just left dealer wont mention name yet, and I was charged $250 for an extra intelligent key. I purchased my car used and only got one.

How much did you guys pay??? I used to work for a nissan dealer and the murano was the first with intelligent key we never charged that much!

I feel like I've been overcharged but now I'm curious to see what others have paid.

PS: I was told that 05 smart key is more expensive than 06 and that was part of the reason. Pardon me but this sounds like bullsh!t

Damn that sucks!!!!

I bought 2 blank keys off ebay for $30 then had a locksmith here cut an program the chip for $60. Spent all together $90 bucks. One key is in the car for remote start, one for a back up key, and one for me to start the car.

The smart key is a pain in the *** I need new batteries for both mines and I got one apart but it won't snap back together all the way. Then some times the key light flashes for 30 seconds and some times it doesn't. If I forget to bring my regular car key and take the car someplace other than the dealership they take the remote apart because there's a little key inside and stick that in the ignition then tell me oh I forgot how you told me to start the car or is this aftermarket? Because the key doesn't fit all the way... Infiniti should have give up push button start like the newer G35 and Altima has.

Sorry if this may sound like a stupid question but I haven't seen anyone ask this question in my search or maybe I missed it. I apologize if this is a repeat question. I have the intelligent key for my 05 sedan and I also only received one key since I bought it used (dealer quoted $250 for me for another one). I was wondering if I could buy a regular key with the transponder chip inside and get it programed by the dealer. I contacted the local dealers about this and they told me that I HAD to buy another intelligent key, but I don't see why a regular Infiniti key wouldn't work since that is what the key inside the remote basically is. Thanks.

It seems like this is the going price ($250) for an intelligent key. For 03-04 this does not apply. But the 05-06 models are such a pain in the *** because the key must be programmed at an infiniti dealer.

$250, that's crazy...one of mine has a spot where it melted, I have no idea how it happened, but I hope it gets replaced under warranty.
