G35 Sedan V35 2003-06 Discussion about the 1st Generation V35 G35 Sedan

Why doesn't 260hp/260tq light up tires more easily?

Its very simple. Forget all the excuses above. Need more hp......My wifes Camry has all the eletronic doo dads as well and still beats the G...My SRT, on the other hand......it's an utter annilation....

No one gives the 268 hp Camry respect on this board. Fact is, it will smoke the G (its 6 speed tranny is the key) unless it's a VERY talented 6M driver (like it or not, there are not that many out there ).

I wish i could get traction... My 1/4 mile times would be easily .50 to a sec faster... If you really want to lose traction wait till it rains.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. There's no way a Camry v6 6A is going to "smoke" any G35, auto or manual. I give the new Camry a lot of respect in terms of it's power, but from what I've read on the Camry boards and what I've seen in the mags, it's pretty much a toss up when comparing the 1/4 mile performance of the 5A G35 and 6A Camry.

Your sig. says you drive an X. I believe turning the VDC off in your car won't do anything & you really can't increase your chances of burning out. The only way you can turn off your front drive I believe is by pulling the AWD fuse.

Can anyone on here correct me if I'm wrong here?

Dave, I respect your opinion. Maybe I just came accross bad drivers while driving the wife's car.........the one thing I don't like about the Camry's tranny is that it's slow to downshift all the way (it's like a two step process). But once it does, it's pretty strong for a V6.

I can get the new mustang V-6 (4L) all day long with my G. Also I was bumper to bumper with a mustang gt convertible, which surprised me since they are running 300HP and 320ft-Lbs. I know the convertible is also 200 pounds heavier than the coupe too.

to the know-it-all.

Just goin by what I see buddy. And I DONT see a lot of 5AT sedans layin down two trails of rubber, unless you know what you're doin behind the wheel. Which is sounds like you do.

Foot on brake, foot on gas, mash gas, release brake a 1 second later. It's not rocket science Chances it will yield a better 60' time than 90% of the 6MT drivers out there too.

But how long would the clutch last or would it stick to the floor... My 90 CRX Si would bark the tires into 3rd. It was a low 16 second car

I don't have a problem loosing traction with 275/30/20’s on the back.
The OEM wheels are like trying to drive on wet roads most of the time.

Just keep adding boost until the desired result is obtained.
