Do the other gauges still work?

Do you have the "Slip" "VDC" and "ABS" lights? If so check your ABS fuse behind the battery.

I have heard that after breaking the speed of light, even the speedometer of the powerful G35 sedan will experience failure.... and i broke mine a long time ago.......

all jokes aside, take it to the dealership. Might be a short of some sort in the wiring or sensor or something....Have a friend drive in front of you so you dont accident drive "too fast" since you wont know how fast you are going.

Ok...My best bet is the speed sensor...Reason is if the ECU doesn't get a speed reading it will light up everything that is affected. Hence, you VCD etc...If you can pull or find a service manual and find out where it is then you can check to see if the wire has be chewed off or if there's anything wrong with it. Reason for that is because sometimes we get mice that chew on wires and damage that wire. It's very rare to have the dash unit go out but it would be my last choice to test...
