Video on Nav question - sticky confusing to me

Alright, so I have been searching this topic for about an hour now and still havent found what I am looking for partly because I am not very technologically capable, and its hard to filter out the 07 responses with their easy AV cable inputs.

Anyways.. I have an 04 with Nav and am running the PA11-NIS ipod integration and want to run video on my nav screen (I know the E-brake has to be on). From what I understand from the sticky, correct me if i'm wrong is that even with the PA11, I need some other sort of unit that would set up a video input? Would this be expensive/worth it?

If anyone could help me without bashing that would be great,
Thanks

You don't have to have the E-brake up... it's all on how you install the system. You can override the safety by simply not plugging it in, or grounding the wire instead.

I don't know what the PA11-NIS is, but you'll need a sound transmitter, and a video converter box. Both will come with a kit. And if you're adding a video game console, then you'll also need a power converter.

The PA11 is an ipod integration kit, if I wanted to play videos through my ipod on the screen, I think that would deal with the audio.. could I then connect like the AV electronics unit to my ipod as well and deal with the video?

You need a NAV-TV module to convert your composite or s-video device to RGB. This only does the video, you will need to use your PAS device for the audio input. I'm using this setup and it works well.

bought a nav converter on ebay for $200.
works great and the picture is crispy. much better than most lcds.
if youre running bose, you might need an fm modulator for audio.
