Bringing this thread back up. It's old, but I'm back on the hunt again.
Searching for a white '06 X with black or smoke interior preferably.
I wanted NAV, but it's a huge pain trying to find a G35 that has it. Seems like many don't?
What's the deal with the Intelligent Key? Was that a stand-alone option? I'd like to find a car that has it as it seems like a cool feature? Does it unlock the doors and lock then as you walk away? How does it work exactly? What can you do with it?

I've been through a few snow storms this year with my new to me G35x and it is the best vehicle I've ever driven in snow and I've had 3 4wds before. The snow tire police on this forum will tell you that your car won't go through 12" off snow with all season tires but I just did this past weekend.
In the summer, I have 18" 45s on aftermarket rims for extra grip. I have a GTEC meter which measured a 0 to 60 of 6 sec which is good for an 04 regardless of awd or rwd.
I too enjoy slammin the gears and have a 90 vette for that. The auto in the G35x is very quick to respond and manual shift mode is interesting. I have drivin stick for 10 years and I think that i can drive the Infiniti faster than the vette due to the auto.
No nav, but I mounted a Nuvi where the nav is supposed to be and it looks like it belongs there for about a $1000 less. I also move it to the vette when needed.

Do you have a pic of that?
I want factory Nav because i am not a fan of "suction cup Nav systems". But if it looks decent i may forget about my factory Nav criteria and just get one without
Mike,
I live in NH and I had the same worries as you did in regards to the snow. I bought the G35 sport not the X and put some Blizzaks and 16 inch steel wheels on it. The car drives amazing in the snow. With the Blizzaks and the traction control on it is almost impossible to get the rear end sideways. I was coming out of a Subaru and the G35 handles just as well in the snow. So if you find a regular G with the options you are looking for I would think about picking it up. Hope this helps.

Damn, that's making me rethink everything again.
If only the X came with a 6-spd, i'd be all set.
Right now i'll just look around and wait until something "pops" out at me. I'm the kind of person that takes their time searching for a vehicle and so far it's worked out to my benefit.
I have a friend interested in my Mustang, so we'll see how that goes first. I may have to wait til spring to get my G.

I see your in Boston.With your winters,defenitely the X.
I have an '04 sedan and well be trading for an X next year.Probably an '07,but if the price and mileage is right on an '06 i'm there.
I have had a couple of '06 X models as loaners, and loved them.Ride, handling, exceleration the car had it all.
The 1/4 mile time would be in the 14-15sec range. But its all wheel drive. You want faster get an '08 coupe or any Porche.

But to a good chunk of people on this forum (who dont even have Xs) your an idiot for not spending $800 to get dedicated tires for the winter.... on your AWD car....
I have two '04 G35x's; one with the Aero Package, one without. Both have spoilers. We've been hit a few times with snow here, and they work great on all season tires. When it's dry, it handles much the same way a RWD car would. Just a thought, but why don't you sell one (or both
) Mustang(s) and grab a new G35x? That way, you can get whatever you want in it. Granted, they might not be quite as fun as the Pony cars, but they are no slouch. I came from a 1991 Doug Rippie-prepared ZR1 Corvette that would STILL drive circles around nearly everything coming out of a production line today, and the G's don't disappoint me (although I'm always looking for more power!) Bottom line, it's up to you. Do whatever would make you happiest.

That's the plan. Sell the newer one and pick up an 05-06 G35x.
I've test driven two this week...def no slouch for a 4-door sedan. I'll be happy with it

not sure i want white now. I am not a fan of tan interiors and in another thread i was told the 05/06's only came with tan interior with the white exterior.
I may have to go with another color now. Just not a fan of tan leather....but i love white exterior. it's classy on a luxury car

How about sell both Stangs and get an 08 Sport G35X?
That thing will be fun as hell..
And i dont know why we, who use all seasons, get so much grief from the snow tire patrol! They work WELL! And everybody i talk to who has them, say they work WELL (on an AWD car, RWD i wouldnt be caught dead with A/s) lol
