G35 Part failures and other problems

I thought I'd start a thread about part failures and other troubles.

Here are mine:

2004 G35X - 74K miles, I had an intermittent problem on long trips with the cruise set to 75 mph. The engine would suddenly loose power (as if I took my foot off the gas) and display Service Engine Soon. If I did press the gas pedel, there was no response. I then would coast to the shoulder, shut-off the car, wait about 5 minutes, and then restart it. It would then act normally. This happend several times for about 6 months. It wasn't until if happend twice in a week that I took it in to the dealer. They said it needed a new throttle body which cost me $458.

76K miles, display of Service Engine Soon light, but no noticable change in engine perfromance. I thought maybe it was the old loose gas cap problem, so I waited a week for it to go away. It didn't, so I took into the dealer again. They reported that the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. They said that they would order one and call me when it is in. They also told me it will be no charge because of the emissions warranty.

Please share your problems and failures, along with the mileage, model and year.

BCM replaced at 45k miles. I bought the car used and didn't notice it until that night. I still have factory warranty so I wasn't worried. They also did the fuel hose replacement and pro-rated my battery and I only paid half price.

I had my drivers seat track replaced after my car was rear-ended. It has always seemed a little loose. What is the issue with yours?

-seat was broken; replaced entire bottom half (motor included) warrantied.
-Clutch sensor died, car wouldnt start because it thought the clutch was not engaged. -warranty
-CEL on, gas cap, gas cap, gas cap, then they finally figured out it was a valve that was staying open. warranty.
-front control arms - warranty

other than those, this car has been awesome. no major issues and no money out of my pocket.

Maybe the valve is a problem for me too. Once in a while I can't fill the gas tank past half way. Usually it happens when I run the tank down to the point that the low fuel light comes on.

Nearing 51K miles on my '03.5 and I haven't had any major problems.

The most recent problem was the faulty auto-close function of the front passenger window, which I fixed myself by resetting the limit switch inside the door panel.

$458 Throttle Body?! You got ripped off! You can pick them up off Ebay for less than $80.

I suspected so, but I didn't have time to screw around fixing it myself right now. At least I got a "free" car wash and vacuum from the Infiniti Stealer.

17K miles on a 2005 5AT and they just replaced an airbag controller, for the second time.

The good news is that I got to drive a new S for about 4 days and it was niiiice.

How to set limit switch? Mine now goes all the way up, then down 1/3.

Ahh yes, the brakes. That is why the next brake job is PowerSlot rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and G-Stop SS Brakelines. We'll see how well this combo works. I'm just waiting on the Coupe springs and Tokico D-Spec shocks for the rear to get the work done.
