I actually quit modding my car over a year ago when I decided to buy a motorcycle. After kissing the asphalt twice, I slightly regret my decision.

Wheels: $3500
Suspension: $800
Exhaust: $550
Brakes: $300
HIDs: $300
Clear Corners/Front Lip/Tint/Radar Detector: $750

I guess about $6,200.

Wheels $0
Suspension $0
Exhaust $0
Brakes $0
HID's $0
Everything Else $0

Total $0

That means $thousand$ to spend on a new car.

$250 - Tint
$160 - Skunk2 springs - hell of a deal online - installed myself
$50 - K&N
$130 - fender roll
$110 - post lowering alignment
$150 - Coupe 18's with new tires

^ (bought 18's for $700 sold the stock 17's for $550, so $150 is what I had to put out for the swap)

I'm happy with it (for now)and looks like I only spent $850 - quite a deal + it is paid off.

If gas wasn't $5.00 a gallon would probably be a little more motivated to do a little more.

lol WHAT?! Why buy the car if you aren't going to be happy with it, stock or modded? Sounds to me like you bought the wrong car!

Huh, I guess you missed the point. I'm vv happy with the G (stock). IMHO money on mods would be better spent towards the purchase of a new ride, whenever or whatever that might be.

...I 100% disagree. Not being belligerent at all, but have you ever owned a modded car? Most people tend to think mods would be foolish until they've owned something thats been modded

I'm sure that Mr. Stock can imagine the fun-factor from a car modified to produce more punch/growl(FI/exhaust), more "stop"(brake kit); to make it lower/wider(wheels/tires/suspension).

However, it does NOT make financial sense to do so, especially when you consider blown transmissions, clutches, engines, xtra gas, tickets etc.
You will always lose on a modified car, especially when you part out to sell. If you sell your car modified you limit your audience and still lose on the mods.

If you choose to still (excessively) mod, go for it as long as you are aware it is a losing proposition for the common man.

Modding a car is definately a bad investment but I don't mod thinking I'm throwing my money down the tubes. It's a form of entertainment...a hobby...something I enjoy doing so to me, its worth the 18K I've spent on stuff already

Each to their own, respect other people's opinions. The G is a great car straight from the factory, not everyone feels the need to mod their cars. Some people are happy with it stock, some like a few mods, and some like to make it one of, if not their main hobby. With the economy the way it is, unless you are making 80k + a year or are a kid living at home with your parents, it may not be the best financial decision for alot of people right now.
