However, it does NOT make financial sense to do so, especially when you consider blown transmissions, clutches, engines, xtra gas, tickets etc.
You will always lose on a modified car, especially when you part out to sell. If you sell your car modified you limit your audience and still lose on the mods.
If you choose to still (excessively) mod, go for it as long as you are aware it is a losing proposition for the common man.

With the economy the way it is, unless you are making 80k + a year or are a kid living at home with your parents, it may not be the best financial decision for alot of people right now.
I agree, Lucky-G. I didn't see/hear any disrepect with the opinion you offered.
Overall I spend 1500 hours a year in my daily driver, 2005 G35 Sedan (90 minutes a day, 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year). I am modding it because I like to and I see my car as an extension of who I am - plus I want to have fun.
I just sunk $7k into remodelling a bathroom in my house. Sure, it is an investment - but over the next 5 years, I'll be in this particular bathroom maybe 10 - 15 hours. The $10k I am throwing into my car is going to give me, say, 7500 hours of fun, enjoyment - and looking unique. Am I going to sell my car and make money on my mods down the road? Hell no... Is the mod-money basically thrown down the toilet? Hell no as well.
I am having a blast!
