Is this a cliche'
Is this a cliche'
Lol, this is a little off topic, but whenevr I see a Camaro/Firebird especially an older one; the driver has a "NO FEAR" sun shade/sticker, has a mullet, smokes in the car and wants too race me. Case in point, I was leaving the grocery store today (wife's orders too go there) and this bloke left his cart right next too my car (04 G35), it was windy, so I immediatley grabbed the cart, gave him a disapproving look and he just stared. Well, he wasn't the driver, he was the passenger, because the driver literally tailed me all the way home and he had a mullet and all the aforementioned things. I wanted too smoke him, but I was scared of spilling the orange juice and the milk in my trunk...Lol...plus he looked like a right nutter.

Be careful, if it's a Trans AM or the big-motor Camaro you may be the one getting smoked. The LS1 does 0-60 in 5.2 and the 1/4 mi in 13.4. Not worth it considering the mullet requirement however.

Depends on how old - Pre '98's were good for 5.6-5.7 to 60, pretty much close to the coupe/sedan 6MT. Detract from that if it's an auto.
Also pre '99 Mustang Cobras were about as fast. Pre '00 GT's were ~ 6 sec cars too.
It could have been a close race, depending on the drivers of the 2 cars.
But, still no excuse for the mullet - it's 2004, not 1994.

Re: Is this a cliche'
Most of the time the NO FEAR sticker mean they had no fear of buying a V6 camaro/firebird, or had no fear of the ridicule that would come from the 200hp V8 in the old TPI cars. Yes, the LT1's and LS1s could lay the smack down on us (especially the latter)... BUT, for the most part you find the NO FEAR or a ford logo being urinated on only in pre-1994 cars. Mullet guys also have NO FEAR of staying in low paying crap jobs and spending all of their extra cash on Bush Light. This leaves little $ to upgrade beyond dinosaur automotive technology.
Oh, and here's a real cliche': Race one of these guys and he'll most ceratainly do a nice and dramatic ricer flyby after you've beaten him and slowed down. His engine will be cranking hard but with 120K miles on his engine, he'll be lucky to be making 170hp at 5500rpm.
