Roll call - who here is driving a G35x?

The X badge is only out about a month and half but curiosity is getting the better of me. Who here is riding one? I know a few of you. I love the car! 5-10" of snow predicted overnight here in NJ.

Xman-

Still planning to be in an X by the end of March. Looks like the east is getting the same storm we got yesterday here in Minnesota. Shoveled snow for 45 minutes this morning; over 1ft deep. Booooo!

I can't wait for the snow! It use to be an issue getting to work, now I have no problems. Well....now it seems like everybody else on the road is my problem. They scare me..... sliding all over the roads like that ;o)

If it's a G it's 4 me!

Re: Roll call - who here is driving a G35x?

Had the X for almost a month now in MN. Running like a champ in the snow except for snow clumping up under the wheel wells. This is gonna suck, I'm 1000 miles into the break-in and it'll be mid winter.

Had mine since the begining of December. I actually look forward to driving in the snow, now that I can. My previous car was an IS300 without snow tires, it used to actually slide down the driveway.

Mine was originally due a couple of weeks ago, but the port has been backed up, because of the snow and ice. Last I heard was, in be yesterday, before the last few days of ice and snow. The worst part is, we've sold our Audi A4 quattro and I'm driving a Miata with summer tires.

Re: Roll call - who here is driving a G35x?

Last week I picked up my Black 04 G35x with Graphite Interior and Aluminum Accents . Loaded with Premium and Nav System(love the birds eye view). Also had rear spoiler added. So far I am very impressed. Previously I had an 01 BMW 330xi and I before that I had a 99 328i but I have to say, The G35 is just as good in terms of handling and has more power. The acceleration is better whether it it is 0-60 or high speed acceleration. I love the Bose vs the upgraded Harmon Kardon I had in the 330xi. The G35 is roomier less expensive and faster. I Drove through the snow this morning and didn't even have to use the snow button. As long as the reliability is excellent, I may never miss the Bimmer.

I've had mine in the Chicago burbs for 1 month now. Great car. Gave up a 1999 Acura TL for the G35x - no comparison! This car kicks a$$. Great snow handling. Great power. Super car!

I'm planning on buying an X this spring. Should I expect to pay MSRP?

Re: Roll call - who here is driving a G35x?

I've been driving my G35X for 1-month and I have put 1100 miles on it. Echo one of the posts about snow in wheel wells. With recent bad weather here in the Mid-Atlantic area, I have put this car through several tests of its driveability. Since I've never owned a SUV, can't compare to SUV handling in snow. Compared to my previous 97 Accord-LX, the G35X traction feels better, but not significantly so. I think the main selling point for the G35X is the "sense" of security with myriad of hi-tech safety features AWD, VDC, snow-mode transmission, anti-lock brakes, EBD, etc. However, realistically, I'm still going to drive the G35X carefully in bad weather and assume that no amount of hi-tech will beat intelligence of the driver.

The other thing I'm noticing is a lag in transmission shifting whether in full auto or manu-matic. In full auto, the lag is most appreciated during high speed passing, but not entirely bad. However, in manu-matic, in whatever gear, I've learned to shift earlier because there is always a lag before the gear selected kicks in.

I couldn't agree more. How many times I've seen and SUV in ditch because of careless driving in bad conditions. Sometimes people equate the technology with more than a sense of security... invincibility.

Re: Roll call - who here is driving a G35x?

Hi, newbie here. Just picked up my Twilight Blue X yesterday. Got 36 miles on it.

So what's the lowdown on the G35 as far as maintenance, problems, service, etc, etc, etc. Anything special a new Infiniity owner needs to know? (other than how to spell Infiniti?)

G35_4_Me asks:

__________________________________________________ _

When I purchased my G35X (1 month prior), I got $3300 off MSRP, BUT this was the first month that the G35X was being sold. It really depends on the way the cars are selling in your area at the time of your purchase. It's all about supply-and-demand coupled with your negotiating abilities. It may be more expensive in couple of months if the G35X is going like hot cakes, or it may be cheaper if it's slow moving (doubtful). Bottom line - Infiniti, the dealer, and the salesman all have to make some money and I know that you don't want to be taken for a ride. Good luck.
