How can i run STAGGERED on an AWD sedan

I'm a little confused.
By staggered, do you mean tires with different heights (like 19" wheels in back and 18's up front) or tires with different widths? (8" up front, 10.5" out back)
If it's widths, how does the car know? Does it have to do with the weight and rolling resistance of each wheel??
I can understand how different diameter wheels would screw it up. A lot of cars have their ABS messed up with different diameter wheels. I know when i go racing at the track with large wheels with Slicks inthe rear i need to pull the ABS fuse because it plays hell with the ABS/traction control.
But if it's different widths, could someone enligten me as to how different sized contact patches and slight weight difference would mess up the AWD??

lol - your correct it wont.
it is more about diameter really
the problem is finding rear tires that will have the same height as your thinner front wheels. the thing is that the AWD could handle a certain difference - but not too much i.e. running slicks in the rear would really **** off your AWD but just running 10inch wheels in the rear with similar diameters wont really do much harm...it might however cause alot of wear and tear if you drive the car at high speeds through tight corners but ATTESA should accommodate for that (not a locked diff)
i pulled my AWD fuse off today and attempted a little burn out. It didnt work out =[ First i heard the rear spin, then stops it around 2-3K rpms and rpms wont go up with or witout vsd lol, I put my fuse back on and enjoyed the pick up off the car with 4 wheels rwd or fwd cant jump like that =]

Look people I have 245/35 in front 275/30 in the rear the rolling diameter is pretty close. I drove with the fuse in for about 1k miles and no problems. The Infinti AWD sysytem is not the greatest and if the Germans can do it so can we.

i have two weeks with the fuse in running staggered and on highway on my way to work and it handles fine with no problem at any speed...it feels like i have my factory wheels on. .... thanks to SEDDON for the information on his staggered setup
