pulling the fuse would work.... after that it would damage the transfer case

Why do you want to go out of your way to counteract all the suspension dynamics of a great handling car by trying to use a staggered setup?

I wonder if you could get the same sized wheels in two diff offsets to make it appear staggered?

It would still mess with the dynamics a bit but nowhere near as much as different size wheels.

IMHO...shou'd ve bought a RWD if stagger was going to be that big of a deal to you.

So the AWD has a different suspension than the RWD? Or, the suspension is such that it can accommodate both AWD and RWD and the requisite weight differences/distributions of the two, render equally great handling for each drivetrain type, but cannot deal with one pair of wheels being a little wider than the other? More to the point, why wouldn't the AWD system be able to handle it? The R32, which pioneered the ATTESA AWD system used in the V35, managed to run staggered wheels, and that was almost 20 years ago. I would think it would be much more important to maintain the same overall tire diameter than width. That should negate any undue wear on the transfer case, shouldn't it?
With the wheels and tires being unsprung, how can they affect, let alone counteract, "suspension dynamics", unless you mean 'handling characteristics' like accelleration and decelleration, which are much more susceptible to the effects of increases in wheel diameter (rotational mass) than width?
How would running different offsets be any better at maintaining "suspension dynamics"? Now you've altered the track width, which I would think would affect handling more than a staggered set-up that maintains factory track settings (though still be neglible under all but the most serious racing conditions).
Not trying to pick a fight, just trying to understand what I'm missing...?

I love my AWD, and I don't envy anyone with a RWD and their staggered setup. It's more them envying me in december when they're spining in circles while I'm doin speed limit in the snow :0)

In my opinion you don'y need to pull the fuse. I have been driving with the fuse in for a few days now. Spoke to a tech at the dealer and not all AWD come with a full size spare. The spare is the same rolling diameter but different width. So if Infinity is selling the AWD car with a different tire size as a spare I don't see why running an 8.5" front and a 10" rear would hurt. Now this is coming from one of the service techs at the dealer. I'm running my staggered with the fuse in for about 100 miles now and no problems yet but only local driving no highway.

it's about the ATTESA AWD reading the power driven from the wheels... the weight is supposed to be even so it'll distribute the power to the front wheels if necessary. the easiest thing is just make a switch like neal376 so you won't have to keep pulling the fuse in and out
