I had the same problem and I called the dealership. They told it is your ABS does a diagnostic to your brake system. My car is a 05 AT.

Yes, read your owners manual. It is the ABS self test, usually happens around 7-10 mph when you first accelerate.

haha thats a good description i know its hard to describe that sound. It can be very embarassing especially when driving past a group of people after just starting up the car.. I noticed the self test must take a decent electrical load too, my interior lights dimmed one time they were on during the ABS test.

mines, sound like a spring being hit, going TING.right after i start to drive in the morning. dealer said its the ABS doing self diagnostic. i dont know if thats suppose to be right, but the sound is kinda loud.

it's not a serviceable problem... it's suppose to happen (providing what you are referencing is what most on the thread is referring to ABS test)... It should only happen right after start up when you pull away - after that it should not continue every time you stop and accelerate. If you have an unusual sound every time you accelerate it is something different.

One other thing to note, which I dont think is your problem but something I ran into.

The Muffler mount that you can see behind the driver side rear tire came loose on me and made a little metal/vibration noise. Tightened it up and now its fine.

I have also felt that abs test. It is not a good feeling.
