Anybody pickup the new navigation DVD yet?

They just released 7.3 for the 2006's and 6.6 for the 03-05. Looks like a software upgrade, more maps and 5 million+ more POIs.

$190...

Stupid question but does the dealer cover the upgrade under warranty?

Even the dealer told me not to buy it. They said wait 3 years and then maybe it will be worth it.

Nav Questions?

Dealer DO NOT conver updates under warranty! I'm not sure why a dealer would tell you to wait 3 years before you update your Nav Disc! That does'nt make sense. Most Nissan and Infiniti dealers are so uniformed when it comes to Nav Disc updates, functionality, and how to train there staff on using nav systems. I am a Auto Broker specializing in Nissan and Infiniti cars. I have several local Atlanta dealers (Nissan & Infiniti), that often seek my help for Nav disc updates and training for there customers on the nav systems. I update my disc in my 06 M45 at the earliest possible moment. Because I actually use my nav, unlike most people. I do tons on driving. I have over 113,000k miles on my car in two years, so I know and see the advantage of updating the Nav disc. If you use your Nav often, and live in a in growing city as I do in Atlanta? Then I would suggest updating your nav disc, its almost like getting a new road atlas, and phone directory ever year.

Good luck with your discission,

Lawrence

I guess it really is up to your area and wheter you think the close to $200 price tag is worth it. I live in the part of southern california where areas are expanding rapidly. I constantly find myself driving on new roads and freeway and the navi displaying i am driving in the middle of no where. I have the 6.5 and defintely need an update but dont see myself spending that much. Who's interested in a group buy

Obviously depends on where you are, and whether the upgrades apply to your area. I waited 3 years so it came to $50/year for the upgrade. Of course, since i upgraded in June, I'll just wait awhile now. I may sell the car before I need to upgrade again
