oem bose stereo

does anyone else have this problem?
whenever i play a cd, the sounds are not equal, meaning all the sounds transfer to the right side, and there are no sounds from the left side.
this happens at any time there is a slight bump in the road, so then whenever i hit another bump, the sounds become equal again.
i know its not a problem with the speakers because FM works fine..
i was thinking it could be mechanical in aspect, maybe the lens needs cleaning.. so then i tried playing a lens cleaner and i get "disc error"

I hope you guys haven't run out of warranty. Looks like you need new head units.

It has to be some type of loose connection for it to come on and off like that.

This is a well known issue with the Maxima Bose unit. There is a ribbon cable connection inside the HU and it gets crap built up on the copper connection which leads to the left side (usually) cutting in and out when playing CD's. Some of those guys take the unit apart and clean up the connection and/or move the cable a little bit. I softly hit mine with the palm of my hand in the center of the HU until the cable moves enough to work again.

Very f*ing annoying. My G35 doesn't do this.

IMO the Bose headunit is crap, mine broke before 50k miles. Was so pissed that I jsut replaced it. I did notice when it was replaced that the ribbon cable was loose

Just posted about this a couple of weeks ago.The problem is the cd player itself.Mine was replaced at that time under warranty and all is good (for) now.

Hate to disappoint you but Bose outsourced the manufacturing of these units to Clairion!! Supposed to be made to Bose specs but Clairion cut back on the laser that reads the disc. This is a common issue with Clairions own units.

Ticks me off.Kind of like buying a Rolex and you find out it was made by Timex.

The problem with the left speakers cutting out while playing CDs is a common problem with the BOSE Nissan/Infiniti radios. The problem is in the head unit. It happens to Nissan/Infiniti decks with tape + 6-CD combo. There's a solder joint problem on the PCB that has the audio processor chip on it. Finding the bad solder joint is not easy since the problem will come & go whenever it wants to. The best (and easiest) solution is to get the head unit replaced. Even then, the problem will probably occur again with the new head unit, because they're still designed the same way.

Lots of experiences like this with the FX. Here's a discussion on Infinitifx.org http://www.infinitifx.org//phpBB2/vi...c.php?p=166699
