I have a 04 g35x sedan and it seems to be it has a locking gas door. Someone on this board mentioned that on there g35, it locks. My never locks. I looked at the door and it has a little slider goes in and out to lock the cover. Where is the switch in the car? I know it locks, I can see a little piece would slide in and out and go into the slot in the cover door. I cant find the switch to lock it. It has always been unlocked.

 

It locks and unlocks when you lock & unlock your car with your remote. At least my 05 does.

Your relay might need to be replaced blown.

 

i have a aftermarket alarm, but it never did it with the stock alarm and remote. i will have to take it into infinity. they better not say something with the aftermarket alarm messed it up. it never locked in first place.

 

It unlocks when all the doors are unlocked. Not when only the driver's door is unlocked.

Check to see if there is a locking tab present. It may be stuck or disconnected.

there is a plastic white locking tab present, should i try to push it in and out. when i press unlock, it unlocks all doors.

 

I had the same problem in my '03.5 when I bought it last year. Brought the car to the dealer, and it turned out to be a bad actuator on the fuel door locking mechanism. The dealer replaced the actuator for free under warranty. Since you mention that you have an '04, it's very possible that the dealer can fix the problem under warranty unless you're over the 4 year/60K basic warranty limit.

 

i think mines broken when my car is locked i can still open my gas door! does warranty cover this? shiet

 

im bringing it in seems like for everything, door moldings are coming off, broken lock fuel door and squeaky suspension when i turn wheel and go over bumps, makes somewhat of a noise.

 

that's alright, first day i got mine i was trying to figure out how to "pop" the gas door. (didn't get a manual with the car), my friend and i were crawling all over the car looking for the switch, (we had experience, first day he got his car, same problem, it was hidden in the glove box), i leaned against the car in frustration and lo-and-behold the gas door cover opened.

talk about feeling foolish.

as for your prob, try lubing, mine stuck once, gave it a shot of wd, worked fine since.

 

I have a 04 also. The solenoid died. I replaced it mysely. It was pretty easy to do. The sticker shock was on the price of the solenoid.

 

its funny how i tried to open my fuel door with the car locked and it wouldnt open. i never tried it with the car locked. i guess my fuel door cover locks lol.
