Amsoil Air filter

Does anyone know what air fliter is the correct filter for the 06 G sedan? I have the stock setup as far as the air filter goes. I searched and can only find info on the cone filter and the amsoil site has too many to choose from with no vehicle search.

Also, whats the advantage to the Amsoil over the K&N?

Thanks

With a K&N filter, you have to clean it periodically. Some have found that it will cause issues with the MAF sensor if over oiled.

The Amsoil filter is a dry filter....

Thank you, so i guess it's model EAA74?

I have used the K&N for a while now but the whole cleaning and oiling thing is what I want to get away from.

I will try this filter

I have used the K&N, the Amsoil, and stock filter. All of them perform the same, and exhaust sound difference is minimal. I have since gone back to the stock air filter. Some cons to getting K&N or Amsoil are:

K&N:
1.You have to re-oil the air filter, which may be often, depending on the air quality around your area
2.If you over oil your filter, you risk messing up your MAF sensor

Amsoil:
1. I felt no improvement over the K&N when I switched out filters
2. When you clean it, the dirt does not truely come out of the folds of the air filter - you cannot clean it as well as you can the K&N

This is based on my experience with the filters, others may have different experiences.

why would an intake air filter affect the exhaust sound? did you mean to say induction honk (the less-restricted intake sound)?

The K&N and Amsoil air filter are supposed to allow better air flow compared to the OEM air filter. More air flow changes exhaust sound; being that sound is louder and possibly deeper. Same can be said about aftermarket intakes which allow for better air flow - people report louder and deeper exhaust note (i.e. Stillin intake or JWT intake).

Like I said previously, from my experiences with panel filters, the sound change and performance gains are insignificant and that is why I went back to the OEM air filter.
