should the dealer do an alignment after changing compression rods??

I don't believe so. The rods remove and replace without moving any linkages.

Ask them to do an alignment check. Most dealer do it for free. If its out... then they should do it. If they try to charge for alignment check, just go to a local shop to get it checked out.

tension rods will have an effect on caster. i would have them do an alignment.

Agree. It's a fixed length exchange.
