Too much misinformation on these forums???
I tend to not even trust some mechanic I just met let alone anonymous people on the forum. However, you tend to find more truth from those you consider experts so if you get enough answers to your question you should be able to judge for yourself.
forums are made for people to give out there opinion so u might have some people that will agree or disagree or just want to get u going mad for fun...Any forum u go to on the internet iz like that. u just gotta take it like it is.
I actually find the input here very useful.Better than the response I get from my dealer.
I like to joke a lot myself on this forum,no harm intended.I'm sure most realize that and they figure AgentAero' drunk again.

You know I think you're f@&#ing up your transmission. Well I don't know, maybe you aren't. I heard sometimes it helps your tranny to shift smoother. But I wouldn't do it because it's bad for your car...so I say it's fine it shouldn't do any damage.
Hope this helps!

research is a must yo! simple as that.
e.g. When I wanted info on the offset for my VS-XX I could have taken the 1st or 2nd post opinion and gone with that... could have been disaster. But I took everyones opinion/suggestions and also did a lot of research (most searching this site) - comparing different wheels on sedan and their offsets, sizes along with info on spacers etc...
Our cars are expensive and one small mistake can cost us a lot! I learnt my lesson first time around ordering a big lip for my sedan - brakes touched the spokes so I had to wait another month to get the spacers!
Good luck!

usually there is more helpful info than not, and posting a question and then slamming 50% of the people who responded is kinda rude if you ask me.

Eventually, it looked like 50% of the folks knew something (but not enough to answer the question), 50% didn't but wrote in anyway to give their theory (which was often incorrect) as fact, 50% were confused about the issue, 50%, were waiting for the correct answer, and 50% more (hey, I know this makes more than 100%-- but it makes the point) read the posts waiting to see whose theory would prevail.
The point being, make sure your info is correct before posting a response. If you don't know, say so and move on, if you just want to make a joke about something someone said it's OK-- but don't, please don't, just give your theory without facts. Too many car owners rely on this forum as part of their research before making expensive decisions.
