I kept the stock cats into the Y pipe. The Y then goes into a muffler under the middle of the car, then two pipes straight back, that's it. No resonators.

If I used an X pipe then it would be a "true dual" I guess, but I don't care at all, it's not going to make a big difference.

I am going to do something similar, except I want to do a 2 in/out resonator with the 2 perforated internal pipes then run the 2 outs into dual mufflers. I haven't found a muffler that I like, I would like to keep it clean with the pipes all the way out, but it would be too loud. I also hate the ricer looking mufflers that resemble the appearance of a polished fart cannon.

So I'm thinking I get 2 individual short resonators X 'em up and then put a 2 in/out muffler there (All before the rear axle) and then run the pipes to the back on each side. Hopefully there's enough room.

heres a quick flyby I shot with my amazing (lol) blackberry camera. looks faster than I was actually going, dont need the campus police getting mad. I'm trying to get better videos, but all I have with me is my phone. So we'll see if I can track down someone with a good camera...

- magnaflow dual exhaust

I saw the magnaflow booth at sema and they had some new mufflers coming out that are supposed to be like the borla ATAk systems as far as sound

I have been researching this on the magnaflow website and cannot seem to find any sound clips. Anyone know where I can find them.

Go on the Z form, you'll find it for like $150-$200

Look at the for sale sections on here and my350z

Coupe middy is like 60 + shipping and HR-Y will run around 120 shipped.

Pro Tip: Go to craigslist and look for people selling 07/08 350z total exhaust and ask if they will part out.

I had a few people who would do it, and almost bought one off craigslist.

Be careful I also ran into people selling the HR-Y pipe, look alike as well.

Yes I know it's very loud, but that's why I got this, and I love it.

I realize it's not for everyone, but nothing is.

So I'm in the process of deciding what exhaust to purchase, I'm wondering what are opinions on the MD xyz + y-back vs. Stillen? Heard some video clips of each, but it's nothing like hearing it in-person. Are there pros and cons of each or are they evenly matched? I'm trying to find one that will give me good power, sounds good, but not too much drone driving on the highway at 65+.

i didn't know that magnaflow made a dual for the sedan. I know theres one for the coupe.

DrewskiLe--well the MD VQ y-back isn't made anymore. I looove my MD exhaust, so if you see anyone selling one, I'd jump on it as soon as possible if I were you. As far as performance I have no idea except that the stillen is true dual and the MD isn't.

Thanks for the response, I thought my question was going to get swallowed up with the other posts and forgotten lol. And isn't made anymore? I see it on their website: http://www.motordyneengineering.com/index.php?cPath=1_6, or is it a different one? For the most I'm just looking for the most bang for my buck and wondering what opinions were. I just want my butt dyno to feel good, but without the drone reverberating through the cabin at cruising speeds lol.
