Marcus did you modify the hanger to get it to sit that close to the bumper?

Yup yup. The tip of the muffler rests on the nismo lip now, I've since put a tiny piece of heat tape on the bumper where the tip touches.

Huge thanks to Dave (OH6 G35) for cutting/welding at 6am this morning so I could get back home to spend the day with the fam...LOL.

Which number magnaflow did you go with? I see there's quite a few of the same body style but different model numbers

I have a 05 g35x sedan and I was going to get a magnaflow 14815 muffler also a 5/16 plenum spacer and some megan racing test pipes.
I was wondering if that muffler will fit my sedan and also what is the HP gain with all those mods? Will I have to do anything else to car?

My #14815 had to be welded on (stock muffler was cut off)

Here's my post about the muffler in this same thread:

I made these videos on 9/2, which is a couple of days after I had it installed. It's a little quieter now that it's broken in, but I'm still happy.

1st and 2nd videos were recorded with my phone (2nd one being a little crappier in sound quality because I had chosen a different setting).

3rd was with my Kodak P&S camera, mounted on a tripod anchored in my backseat. (Windows were all down, basically, hence the annoying wind).

I think thats what Im going to do just add a 14815 muffler onto my 05 g35x except instead of welding it on couldn't I just directly replace it? Also I was looking to get plenum spacers and where I am its relatively cold so would a Iso thermal copper one be the right one? Motordyne ofc is the brand. I heard test pipes are bad but some say their good what do you think?

The problem is that the inlet to the stock muffler is in a different position compared to the inlet of the Magnaflow muffler, so a new pipe needs to be bent and welded to make it work. It's not like the HKS axleback that was designed for the car, which will bolt right on (given you have the right hangers).

I have a 2006 G35x. I want to get the HKS sport exhaust PN: 32008-BN001
Do i need anything else? I searched and saw something about a hanger. I would be doing the install myself with the car on jack stands. Let me know if I need to get some extra parts before I buy.
Thanks in advance.

You'll need the 03-04 muffler bracket, 2 rubber hangars, and 2 bolts to mount the bracket. Here are the part numbers:

INF 08146-8252G x2
INF 20651-AF400 x2
INF 20742-AF400 x1

Other than that you'll be good to go!

I'm in the market to upgrade my stock exhaust on my 06 sedan and was wondering which would be the most mellow but still allow performance gains?
