I have spent hours looking through pages and youtube videos but cannot fin the right exhaust
I have an 03 Sedan
Im looking for something that has a nice, but not obnoxious rumble at idle, while also sounding deep at WOT
I dont like rasp, nor will I cheap out on this
Any ideas will help please...I do like the borla, but I feel its way too quiet at idle and low rpms

You want motordyne ART Pipes, XYZ w/HFC & harakiri y-back. Since you're not going cheap, if you find everything you will have spent at most $1,500. For a system like that, a tune would be nice so there's some more $ for you to spend on, so since you're getting a tune might as well do some intake mods, well motordyne a plenum spacer and stillens Hi-flow kit will set you back another $400-$500. You're looking at an easy $2,250-$2500. Lol, jk!!!!

I have the Tanabe Y-back with HR Y-pipe and it sounds sweet!!

It's a bit loud after install at cruising speeds but it mellows into a sweet smooth sound. At cruising speeds get on the gas just a bit and the deep growl begins. WOT it is a beast! From a stop once you give it gas a deep racy grow starts. Slight rumble at idle. Zero drone and rasp.

A few people here have this exhaust and all that do seem to love it like I do. The system is first rate being what one would expect from Tanabe and is very sexy looking! The single tip is double walled so you can see it front directly behind it unlike other dual tip units that are single walled that are not visible front directly behind.

I would not trade it for for any other unit!

Need Help - Don't know Anything About Cars

I have a 05 G35X... had it for almost 4 years now.

I took it to Canadian Tire because I noticed the sound was off.

They said I need a new Resonator Assembly, Muffler and Gasket. Unfortunately they don't have access to those parts and most likely the dealership would.

I'd prefer not to take it to the dealership because I find they charge you so much. I made the mistake of getting my brakes (calipers, roters, pads etc) done there and it cost me $1700...

Do you guys know how much it is to buy those parts and labor would be? Resonator Assembly, Muffler and Gasket?

Also would you recommend I get after market parts instead if it is going to cost a lot? If so what are the recommendations on the after market parts? How mcuh would those cost?

I would really appreciate some help. and sorry if I posted this on the wrong thread. Thank you

C

Ok so a Tanabe Medallion just showed up in the mail today, now for the y pipe. I dont want to spend alot on this because of its small gains, any suggestions on one?
OEM HR? Megan? I dont want to have a weird flow, the y-pipe should have a smaller pipe then the midpipe?Same? I hear different things on what will keep the flow good

Tanabe system is 2.75"
OEM HR Y-Pipe is 2.5"
Megan HR Y-Pipe is 3"
Tanabe Y-Pipe is 2.75"
M2 HR Y-Pipe is 3"
Motordyne Y-Pipe is 3"
Stillen?

I say either go with the Tanabe or the OEM HR Y-Pipe.

Yeah, you want to the exhaust to keep getting wider the farther back you go. Going from a 3" collector into a 2.75" mid will create turbulence and rasp. You could have a custom Y made up for no more than $200

I have shorty headers, stillen HFCs, and borla true dual and i think it sounds like an import v8
