Yeah good thinking. It'll stop the yellowing/peeling and will protect from road debris. I should actually get this done.. hmm. Thanks Joe!

I remember Tim said it's been over a year and no yellowing or oxidating.

Chris is right about the ebay "replacement" lenses but mine are not yellowing..they are however starting to flake on one of them. They will fit in terms of going back onto your OEM headlight base but they do NOT sit all the way down (don't clip into all clips) so I had to use a some silicone to make sure I had a good seal. Without using the silicone...condensation set in.

IMO...stay away from them....OEM halogens is the best replacement. If you have HIDs, just re-use the bezeles and lenses from the OEM halogens ones. The quality of the ebay lenses and brezels is just not up to par with OEM. They have small imperfections all around them....at least the ones I got did. Clear bra is a great idea.

Yeah the eBay halogen lenses spider crack and flake the clearcoat on the inside because they're not made for intense heat from HID's.

More Expensive: Get some halogen OEM headlights off ebay with lenses in decent-good condition and replace. OEM is the only way to go in my opinion. Plus you could use them for parts. AKA paint the bezels black and swap them out to see if you like the look. If not, swap the stock/chrome ones back in
My brother had a Civic painted a year ago and the headlight lenses were sandblasted. The body shop (a junior college) sanded the factory lights down and painted them with a paint clear coat. They lenses looked as good as new. I am not sure how the clear coat will hold up over time, but maybe this would give the lights a protective barrier against chipping. Let me know what you guys think? I don't want to buy new lights, but want to paint my bezels black. I might try this, but use spray paint clear coat.

interesting...

There are a lot of car dealerships here in Utah that sell a product called LenzSaver. They swear by the product to clean off the yellow/hazy oxidation.

I'm gonna try it out. It comes with a clear coat/protectant.

i know its gone over a hundred times what paint you used, duplicolor bumper paint....buuuuttt, the title of this thread says cleared, unlike your own personal lights which you did not clear. do you mind telling me which clear was used on these lights? also, compaing pics from your headlight thread to these they look pretty much identical as far as color goes, are they different in person due to the clear?

I didn't use any clear coat over my finish coat of paint. I cleared out my turn signal lenses....from amber to clear.
