New bumpers or get them painted?

Living in New York has left my G with my bumpers looking like burn victims. I'm trying to find the most cost effective way to get them fixed. Should I pick up new bumpers from a dealer / ebay, or just go to a paint shop and have them re-do the paint job on them?

Can't go wrong with either option but if I were in your shoes I wouldn't buy the same factory bumpers because you'll have the same problem later down the road. I would look into purchasing a Nismo kit used in the market place once people start swapping out their NISMO bumper for one of the new bumpers in the works for the 03/04

Well, I live in L.A. now. I don't expect this problem to persist as much as it did in NYC. I would love to get aftermarket bumpers, but I don't see too many for the sedan, much less the 03 sedans.

get them repainted... it should not cost about 500-600 for both front and rear.

Depending on the damage it could be more to repaint...

Repaint... I had my rear repainted, and had an estimate on the front... The rear was $400, and the front estimate was $500... I didn't go through with the front repaint yet. Either way, it's still cheaper than buying new bumpers and then needing those to be painted as well....

Depending on what you get your bumpers for!

Local customers to me get a new front bumper for $215 plus tax picked up...

Shipping a bumper is $165 unfortunately...

Painting a new bumper is on a high estimate $300... But usually you can get it for less if you have worked with the body shop before...

That's high for just a repaint.

I think thats about average for repaint for a bumper with normal wear and tear on it...

To completely prep the bumper for paint is a lot more work when the bumper is already painted or has some damage on it...

I thought it was high too, but then went to a few different places and this was the most reasonable price. They had to do a full prep--sand it down, prime it, and repaint.... I only went to the reputable-looking places, and the ones insurance recommended. For rear bumper, had to repaint due to someone keying the bumper all the way across. On the front bumper, my little brother closed the garage door on it, and scratched it up pretty good....
