Why's The G SCENE so much better in Cali??
#46
It's pretty simple actually. We have great year around weather. If Cali was a nation, I believe we would be the 11th biggest nation in the world (don't hold me to that, I remember hearing the stat but don't remember the exact number). In other words we have a huge population. If you have ever been to Cali, you would see that we have way too many cars on the road. So we probably have a higher percentage of G's based on that alone. Then you throw in the thriving import show/performance scene and the number of shops that we have available in Cali. All that together equals a pretty cool G scene.

I gotta agree with all those stating the reasons for the big G (and car in general) population in CA. Last time I was over there was 3-1/2 yrs ago when I was on a business trip in the Bay area. Rented a car while I was out there, and I couldn't believe the sheer number of cars on the roads even at nighttime. Of course back then I didn't have a G35 at that time, but now I can totally understand the strong showing of Japanese imports in the state as well as the aftermarket support.
One day I'll have to take my G out to Cali for a road trip vacay. It'll be so worth it

For you guys who don't live in California...yeah we have great, weather, fantastic road ways (Ventura Freeway and the Pacific coast highway.)
But we got earthquakes too.....and let me tell you, we are all waiting
for the big one......
You California folks, prepare now...buy that bottled water and 1st aid kit before
the year is out.....

Your lucky that you can have year round meets in Cali., in NY right now, a car meet would be the 4 people who showed up waring winter jackets and freezing to death. The entire "car scene", goes into hibernation for the winter in the North, and North East. My G35 has been sitting in the driveway for the past couple of weeks, I have no reson to drive it in this weather. When Sprign and Summer roll around, alot more car meets start.
