Automobile Magazine article

Did you guys see the awesome Automobile magazine article about the AWD systems in Sport Sedans? They compared Audi's system and the G35x system. They also brought a standard drive A4 and G35 to compare to. Wow incredible how much they liked the G35x. I'm super proud to be an owner of this car.

Re: Automobile Magazine article

the only thing to make the G35X better IMO would be to be able to have a 6MT instead of 5AT. That's my only complaint. if i could get 6MT in AWD i would have waited the extra 3 months to get one.

We als o wanted the 6speed AWD, but were told by an Infiniti rep in August that the tranny wouldn't fit with the AWD setup. We've owned nothing but sticks for years. However, after getting the X, we don't miss not having the 6speed; the auto transmission is so competent. My wife just said, the only problem is she's still looking for the clutch.

LOL, the opposite would be true for me, I'd probably forget the clutch, I haven't driven a stick in a very long time!

Re: Automobile Magazine article

Yes - I read it last night and was about to post a thread on it (but searched first!) to find you beat me to it. I thought it was a very thorogh study with testing on dry and wet/snowy surfaces and hills and checks out acceleration, handling, grip, braking etc.

The best bit was that the cars used were a G35S 5AT and a G35X to investigate RWD vs 4WD. They also check out the similarly priced Audi A4 1.8t in it's FWD and quattro models. The writer definitely prefers the way Infiniti does 4WD compared to Audi's quattro - and the results easily bear this out. Definitely worth a read - I for one am EXTREMELY impressed with how well the heavier G35X does compared to the regular sedan in dry conditions let alone in slippery ones.
