The top push-clip things break all the time. Ideally, you want to take a flat-blade screwdriver and pop up the center part about 3/8" and the the entire thing should pull out... but it rarely works out that way. I just bought a ton of them off ebay and replace them as I break them.

Probably, the issue you're having is with the two weird square latch things on the corners... there's a DIY somewhere around, I'll see if I can find it. I'll also dig up that ebay link for you.
I think buying a bunch is the best idea especially since one of my mudgaurds in loose and I scuffed one of them so I want to re-paint it. I just need to source some Infiniti silver paint. I think I'm an 06 BS.

How do you dislodge the square latches? I by accidentally added 2 pics of the driver's side but do you just push down and pull away from the car? Do you need to press them down simultaneously?

^They're a pain to remove the first few times.

I did it with two flat blade screwdrivers.

^I was using two at once on one side.

There's a clip inside there you have to push in, and pry outwards on the grill at the same time.

I can't seem to find that DIY

^Don't worry about it Ashley I remember reading that DIY it didn't help me much. If you have a long skinny pair of pliers that wick work too.

The DIY was so-so... I had to use a different method to remove the square ones... but the pics really helped.

Alright, I'll have to try it. Any advice on repainting the splash guard? I'm hitting the grill with 400grit but didn't know what sandpaper combo I should go for the splash guard?

Yeah the pics were helpful to get started but the square ones drove me nuts, had to meet up with a Sedan friend who had done it before to help me.

^Yeah, those things drove me crazy as well... elicited more than my fair share of swearing at it

Oh I didn't mean for taking the off/ putting on... that's gravy. I just meant to get the paint right.

Or you can buy the right tool for the job and NEVER damage them EVER. I have these pliers that are designed specifically for pushpins and never have broken ones anymore.
