Well I am a firm believer of, race the corners and drive the straits. Except for when there is snow on the ground. Go slow around the corners and accelerate smoothly. Also keep your eyes open for other driver who may loose control by you. Leave room in between cars. Just use common sence and you will be alright.

#1 use common sense. Too many dips**ts out there that werent born with it.

It depends on a lot of things, mainly how good are your tires? Summer tires arent recommended for snow, obviously. If your running all seasons and you have good amount of tread left then you should be fine. The ABS and VDC systems work very well in helping you get through snow and slippery conditions. Just take it very easy, go slower than you normally would and keep your distance from other motorists. Use the brakes lightly and sparingly, and drive in the motorist's tracks ahead of you.

Maybe take the G to an empty snow covered parking lot and see how she handles if you get some time out there.

The stock Turanza's are horrible in the snow. There's some good advice up above. Very curious to hear how you make out after your trip! Please post up you experience in driving in the snow for the first....esp. w/ a RWD car. Good luck & be smart.

they aren't going to let you up in big bear with a G with the snow we are getting right now... don't even bother, you re going to wreck your car and possibly they will turn you back once u get into higher elevation

You should be fine for a couple days on summer or a/s tires. Just takes these steps into consideration.

1. Avoid hills. Snowy hills+a RWD car with bad tires=a no go.
2. Keep your following distances FAR! ESP with bad tires. Your gonna slide a lot.
3. Go slowly around turns. Your car IS going to slide.
4. Keep the speeds lower.
5. Seeing as you've never driven in snow before, find a parking lot and practice. Just try sliding, turning and stopping and get a feel for how your car handles the snow.
6. NO JERKY MOVEMENTS! When your driving down a snowy highway, you want to keep as STEADY as possible. No jerky movements or you might end up going sideways into the median.

If you heed my list, you will do just fine in the snow.

And do your best to only brake while going in a straight line... braking when turning in slick conditions is a no-no (same goes for acceleration!)

You're going nowhere if you're on summer rubber or wider than OEM tires. The G is pretty decent in up to 3" or so of snow assuming you're on all season rubber. I've done up to 8" in some areas, but that takes some time.

There is no way in hell if you have the goodyear summer tires or summer's in general that came with the 6 spd. Trust me on this one. U get enough snow in the treads and eventually you'll be ice skating. all seasons r ok if they are fairly new but snows would be better. Good luck

i personally wouldn't take the G to big bear..especially if it snowed or there's ice on the road... and most likely there will be.
Just go rent a FWD or AWD car, and don't worry about it.
