Key stuck in the ignition
Parked the car at work today. Put it into P and hand brake applied. Turned off the car but couldnt get it all the way to the off position.
Checked gear to see it was in P and was there. Turned on the car again and turned it off and could get the key out. First time it has happened to me.
This is not the valet key but the regular key I use for driving. Key shows no signs of damage as well.
Anyone experience this?
My 40k kms service is due in next Sat so they are going to look into this.

I have seen this happen before. Just push the shifter as far as it will go in to the park position. Somehow the shifter is not making contact with the sensor that triggers the ignition key to release.
How is Dubai in March? I'm going to be there for a few days.

This is the first time i had the key issue - regardless my 40k service takes 2.5 days so I will make sure they check the sensor.

Key Stuck in the ignition
Wads up guys... I've read a few threads in here where people are having the same problems I recently started having with my g35 sedan. Today, I was driving and parked the car, put it in Park. Key won't come out the ignition. I jiggled the key, turned the steering wheel. Nada! Restarted the car, Reverse, and parked again. Still stucked. Finally, I pushed the shifter all the way then heard a CLICK!. Key is released. Idk... I have the car for 2 going on 3 years now. First time I ever experienced that. Should I take it to the dealer? I'm the 2nd owner , bought it with only 70k, and now going on 91k.
Go to the hardware store and pick up some graphite lube/ 3 in 1 lube for locks. Lube up your key and the ignition side, insert turn and it a few times. It should fix your problem. Good for around the house too.

Oh ok, I'll graphite it though cause I have used it in residential condons lock at my job. Tomorrow I'll lubricate it. Thanks #Urbanengineer
Hey,
I had the same problem today, and luckily, I didn't follow any of the above advice. Turns out, that the little trigger thingy under the shifter can get gooped up and stick, and not fully extend when you put the car in park. A little WD40 and work the trigger and voila, it is able to fully extend, and thus release the safety on the ignition and let you turn the key all the way to get it out. Worked like a charm! The problem had NOTHING to do with the key, or the ignition. So try this first, before you put anything into the ignition.
