RWD G's don't go in the snow..Pics..

Wow,I didn't think owning a rear wheel drive G would be this horrible trying to get around in the snow. I live in Utah and it is a blizzard out there right now..I am going to wait til' next winter to put snow tires on and if it doesn't get any better I just may have to sell it.

Here are a few pics of my 06' G35 ...I will post some better ones once I get my new wheels and tires.everything is pretty much stock right now. Front windows are tinted 20% and the back 5%. I am waiting for some clear corners to get in stock..let me know what ya guys think.

Also guys, I was going down the hill this morning and my ABS light came on, it says my traction control is off, and my slip light is permanently on. Anyone know why this would have happened? I have no clue about this stuff..let me know..

Check your brake fluid, it is probably low.

An ABS modual went out last winter on me. It started making a wierd noise, the SLIP light, and VDC Off lights went on and the ABS/Traction Control systems were down for the count. (it was the most fun driving that thing in the snow. The damn thing was ALLLLL over the place)

Took it into the dealer, took them 1 months to figure it out by 'throwing parts at it". (they gave us an 07 loaner though, so it was all right )

It was almost 5 grand by the time they were finished but luckily it was under warranty.

Get it checked out and i hope you have warranty.

I'm in UT as well, SLC and the snow storm today was horrible.

The roads are deceptive however, because of the extreme wind, rather than snow being on the ground, there is a thick thick layer of ice. Actually, getting onto I-15 I almost spun out, which literally made my stomach sick as I tried to steer myself in the right direction, fortunately VDC saved my ***.

I have some good and brand new All-Seasons, but I'm definitely going to invest (I would've but I bought the car in Vegas and they didn't stock snows) in some dedicated snow tires, which I'd recommend to you as well.

Fortunately we rarely get hit with bad bad storms like today and two weeks ago, but when they hit they're horrible.

Drive safe and go slow. I could care less if I'm the slowest on the road as long as I'm safe and controlling what I can (which was the case after my scare).

It was humbling for sure.

I got 4 17" Blizzak WS-50's. I can't recommend them enough. They totally transform the G sedan into a snow machine. They are fantastic. The G runs better than my wife's TSX that has all-season tires.

I got some 18" MZ-03's on my 6mt and it transformed it. Of course last year I was running around on the stock turanzas that are summer tires.

It's not the RWD G that is horrible, it's the tires you are running.

Im getting irritated. Are RWD Gs with snow tries REALLY that bad?

My sister and her BF (both have subarus) keep telling me the car is gonna suck in the snow no matter what kinda tires i have and its not going to move. They keep filling this mis-information into my parents heads to. But the only thing thats keep my parents from saying no to this G is the fact that the AWDs are about 22k haha

Snow and summer tires aren't a good mix.
