Transmission Issues

ok heres the deal I threw on a set of rear snow tires from work that we had sitting being that the size wasnt exactly what in the front i threw on in a hurry since the snow was on the way. my sizes are front 215-55-17 and 205-50-17 and yes i konow there not close but it needed to work for the time being. Anyway after having them on for 3 days my (CHECK ENGINE LIGHT) popped on and here are the codes
P1767 HIGH AND LOW RESERVE CLUTCH SOLENOID VALVE
P1762 DIRECT CLUTCH SOLENOID VALVE
P1757 FRONT BRAKE SOLENOID VALVE
P1752 INPUT CLUTCH SOLENOID VALVE
P0745 LINE PRESSURE SOLENOID VALVE
P0740 TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH SOLENOID VALVE

I also checked all of these on all data and 5 of them start out by saying something about it has something to do with the signals sent from the vehicle speed sensor . which means that since I had the sizes of tires on it was seeing different speed at the rear sensors casuing this issue. So i put factory tires back the rear . I cleared all the codes on sunday and nothing came back yet but i put my factory tires back on,on my way home the (AT CHECK) light came on so I am like WTF I get home turnn car off and back on then the light goes off. Now my car is about roll over 60 k so I have 10,000 miles to figure this out before warranty goes awy. please any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated .. thanks

If I'm not mistaken, your powertrain warranty which runs for 6 years or 70K miles (whichever comes first) should take care of any transmission-related problems. Something like what you've described shouldn't come up in any normal driving routine. Take your car to the dealer and get the warranty to cover the diagnosis and repair work.

i callled the dealer today and I am out of warranty it goes by the purchase date when new not miles . so I am SOL and just hope that it will be okay for the time being. I have not flagged any codes on my drive to work today or any at check lights. so i will have to wait and see what happens.

Powertrain warranty is 6 yr/70k. If you are out of warranty, than that means you bought your G on or before Feb 02. I thought the first G was sold during spring/summer time of 2002?

In the US, yes. Maybe he bought it in Japan . They started selling it in June of 2001

You can check the original manufacturing date of your car by finding the sticker on the driver side door jamb. The sticker contains a lot of info like color code, tire pressure specifications, etc. but there should be a date for when the car was first released from factory. Mine is 12/2002 so I have until the end of this year to use my powertrain warranty (I'm only at 56K miles).

Ok I called them again and confirmed that I have powertrain coverage. so I guess it depends on who you talk to. first I talked to a tech that he knows she knows kind of deal and said I was out of warranty then I called and talked to a service writer and he said I still have coverage. so thats freakin awesome ... how many quarts do i need to do a full trans flush . because that is what im going to do then if I HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER THAT THEN IT GOES TO THE DEALER

Nope. It goes by the date of sale. You have more time.

That's great to hear, it definitely pays to get a 2nd opinion from another person in the service dept For a full tranny flush, it takes 10-12 quarts of tranny fluid to do the job as you'll have to remove the majority of the dirty fluid from the torque converter. Since the flush job is a bit complex, it is recommended to take your car to a service shop or dealer which has a special flushing machine to do the job. However for a simple drain and refill job, it takes roughly 4 quarts of fluid to get the job done, and that can be done on your own just like a regular oil change.
