New to the forum, just got a 2003 Sedan

i love it so far. i payed 12000 for it. it has 101k miles and it is in great condition. its white. i have a few questions about it though..

1. is there any common problems such as transmission problems when it gets over 100k?

2. i noticed on the newer sedans they dont have the black under the car. is there anyway to get that painted? idk if i really like the black, idk why they just didnt make it all white

3. how does vdc work and when should i use it?..and how do i know if its on. i notice if the lights on it also says 'off', but if i push the button again the vdc light turns off

4. i wanna get new headlight housing because mine are getting faded/scratched...how much would that cosT?

WELCOME
1. I'm not sure about that one....none i've heard of.
2. You can get it painted at a body shop pretty cheap.
3. Keep the vdc on in rain/ snow/ bad weather. Helps control your car, helpful if you've never driven RWD.
4. Check ebay, or try wetsanding them.

Please check the FAQ sticky at the top of the 03-06 sedan page.

1. Not for the A/T, M/T's have synchro issues
2. Paint or a body kit like the Nismo
3. VDC helps keep things in control, keep it on. I have to keep mine off because my car has too much power but for normal G's it's a good thing to have.
4. Try plastic cleaner/polish first and then dealer or ebay for used ones. Remember 03-04 is one type and 05-06 is another and they don't swap.

1. ATs are pretty solid, have the fluid inspected and maybe get a trans flush.
2. Paint it white
3. VDC is always on, theres a little button VDC OFF under steering wheel to the left (by trunk release) to turn it off.
4. Might be worth it to buy a bottle of Meguiars PlastX (has a G35 headlight on the front of bottle!!) from local auto store. If they are really bad use a buffer. If there are really deep scratches, replace them.

I used Plexus and Klasse AIO for my headlights on other cars. It takes the 'fog' out of them.

Once you get them clean and polished if you install the 3M clear bra headlight covers the haze will never come back. I polished mine every 2-4 weeks when I first got the car and now since the clear bra I have not touched them in about two years.
